Unique Features - Design

Unique design specifications.

ContenO’s bottling equipment is in alignment with:

  • FDA Code of Federal Regulations 21CFR129, Title 21 – part 129:  Processing and Bottling of Bottled Drinking Water.
  • ISO 14159:2002 (Safety of machinery — Hygiene requirements for the design of machinery)
  • NEN Machine directives: NEN-EN 1672-2:2005+A1:2009
  • EHEDG machine directives: www.ehedg.org
  • Directives by European Community (CE-certification).

Hygienic materials:

  • We use Stainless Steel AISI 316L (EN 1.4404) and certified food approved materials for all equipment that comes –potentially- in contact with water.
  • Moreover, also the complete frame of the bottling machine is in stainless steel AISI 304 (EN 1.4301), because in containerized plants, humidity during storage can enhance rust.

Hygienic Design:

To eliminate cross-contamination, the design of the bottling system is such that there is a physical split between the PET bottle production compartment and the filling/closing compartment.

  • To eliminate cross-contamination, the carriers of the preform do not come in contact with the carriers of the blown bottle. This means that water cannot be transferred to the oven, where the heat could enhance bacterial growth on wetted carriers.

  • All hatches for the feeding of preforms and caps are at ergonomic height (max. 62 inch /1550mm) so that even smaller operators can easily operate the containerized bottling plant.

All access doors are minimum 800 mm (31.5 inch) wide: if an operator has fallen, his colleagues have no problem to carry him out of the container
